Piers is one of the 2 secondary antagonists of Pokemon Sword and Shield. He is the Spikemuth Gym Leader and founder of Team Yell.
Biography[]
Piers is the Gym Leader of Spikemuth. Since Spikemuth has no power spot, it is very uncommon for tourists to go there. Piers decides to make Team Yell to get in the way of other challengers so his sister Marnie will win and Spikemuth will regain popularity.
After Marnie sneaks the player into Spikemuth, Peirs challenges the player to a battle and loses. Marnie appears and tells Piers that she wants to win with her strength, not with Team Yell. Piers agrees to this, making Team Yell more heroic and no longer causing trouble. At the end of the gym challenge, Leon goes to Rose Tower for unkown reasons so the player, Hop, Piers, Marnie and Team Yell all storm Rose Tower. In addition to this, Piers helps the player and Hop when Swordward and Shieldbert release dynamaxed pokemon all over the region.
